Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team. This full-time position is remote, with the company headquarters based in PA.

OUR CLIENT

Our client is a leading supplier of wholesale apparel, promotional products, and imprintable goods, working with clients like promotional product distributors, athletic team dealers, screen printers, embroiderers, online retailers, and thousands of other businesses.

ROLE

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Global Controller to join their organization. As the Controller, you will play a vital role in overseeing all financial activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and providing strategic financial guidance to the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance with experience at a global entity, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable,

general ledger, and payroll.

  • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with generally

accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.

  • Perform financial statement analysis and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations.

  • Lead execution and improvements of the month-end close process, including preparation of

journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of established internal control over financial reporting as

it relates to the month-end accounting close process and escalate control issues to senior

management.

  • Evaluate current systems and implement improvements as necessary to automate transaction

processing and routine tasks.

  • Work cross-functionally on strategic company projects/initiatives and apply critical thinking to

provide solutions that drive company performance.

  • Respond to internal and external audit requests, as well as to any ad hoc requests from senior

leadership.

  • Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying

observations and recommendations to operational issues.

CANDIDATE

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 5+ years’ experience required; background in product marketing, the promotional industry, apparel, print-on-demand or SaaS platforms preferred.

  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels and best practices including CRM, paid media, webinars, events and experiential marketing.

  • Strong communicator, able to convey actionable, data-driven insights to diverse internal and external audiences.

  • Highly analytical problem solver and strategic thinker with strong time management and project management skills

  • An exceptionally quick learner with a natural curiosity and the ability to grasp new concepts, simplify complexity and influence cross functional groups.

  • Experience with marketing automation platforms such as Klaviyo and HubSpot.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Low ego, team player that is highly resourceful and has a proven track record of achieving results.

  • Must be able to travel 5% -10% of the time.

The compensation for this role is $150k+ depending on experience.
