ROLE
Crunchbase is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial strategy and operations. The CFO will be a key advisor to the CEO, executive team, and board, driving financial performance and business growth. This individual will oversee all financial, accounting, and legal functions, ensuring operational excellence and long-term financial health.
Responsibilities:
Partner with the CEO, executive team, and board to provide strategic financial guidance.
Evaluate and optimize business assumptions, financial models, and operational strategies.
Serve as the financial expert, managing financial operations and ensuring strong fiscal health.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, presenting directly to the board and investors.
Develop and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.
Oversee cash flow planning, investment strategies, and asset management.
Analyze financial performance, identify key drivers, and provide data-driven recommendations.
Manage financial reporting, ensuring accurate and transparent communication of results.
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing finance, accounting, and legal teams.
Lead financial communications with investors, board members, and stakeholders.
Navigate complex financial landscapes, including M&A transactions and venture-backed growth.
Required Qualifications:
Extensive experience in financial leadership roles within venture or PE-backed SaaS or recurring revenue businesses.
Proven track record of leading successful sell-side M&A processes, ideally in a CFO role.
Strong ability to communicate Crunchbase’s financial narrative to investors and stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Strategic mindset with a focus on growth, scalability, and collaboration.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities and drive data-driven decision-making.
Executive presence with excellent leadership and team-building capabilities.
The compensation for this role is $325k-$375k plus bonus and equity.
