General Manager - Litigation Support
Steno
General Manager - Lit Support
Full-Time, Remote / Salary, Exempt / Includes Equity, Benefits, and Flexible PTO
Steno is growing! We’re looking for a General Manager - Litigation Support to join our team to lead the growth and operations of a critical business unit. Steno is revolutionizing the legal industry every single day, with a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond). We’re constantly redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry, and we’re excited to build something new that we know our clients will love.
In this role, you will…
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to act as the General Manager of Litigation Support as we scale our newest line of business. Litigation Support encompasses our work in Service of Process, eFiling, and Court Filing. This role will be reporting directly to our COO, and will own the business strategy, P&L, team leadership, and operational execution for this high-growth vertical. You will work hands-on to lead the Litigation Support business unit as a liaison to the Executive team & entire company.
This is a unique opportunity to build a market-leading business-within-a-business and establish Steno as a dominant force in the Litigation Support market. You'll be responsible for defining the comprehensive strategy, building the national go-to-market approach, and defining what "market-leading" looks like based on your expertise.
You will also establish and build strategic relationships with key technology partners, enterprise service providers, and Fortune 500 clients while developing enterprise-grade product infrastructure for large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and complex production workflows. To gain comprehensive market intelligence and competitive positioning, you'll work cross-functionally with Engineering, GTM, Customer Success, and Executive teams to build a transformative, compliant, and market-defining Litigation Support platform. As we scale, you'll be responsible for building and leading a high-performing product pod while continuously driving innovation, expansion, and category leadership.
Who are you?
You are a strategic operator and business leader who can think at the enterprise level and set a transformational vision for the organization to execute. You've got comprehensive experience with technology, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes, and you've successfully built and scaled product lines from zero to market leadership. You're energized by complexity, driven by product ownership at scale, and passionate about building technology that transforms how legal enterprises operate.
You understand the legal technology ecosystem at an enterprise level, you are capable of architecting sophisticated data processing and review platforms, and you thrive in high-stakes, high-growth environments where product decisions impact litigation outcomes. If that sounds like you, and you're ready to create something transformative that will define the next generation of legal tech, this role was designed for you.
On a regular basis, you will
- Lead Steno's LItigation Support strategy, from market positioning and competitive differentiation to feature development
- Partner to define the product roadmap, establish success metrics and KPIs, and articulate the long-term vision for market leadership and category dominance
- Hire and lead new team members as the business grows
- Partner to develop an enterprise technology platform with advanced data processing, AI-powered analytics, sophisticated workflows, and enterprise production
- Collaborate with the Steno product team to architect capabilities that ensure compliance (Federal Rules, international regulations, industry standards), enterprise-grade performance, intuitive user experience, data privacy, and reliability across eFiling and Service of Process workflows
- Collaborate with Engineering, GTM, Customer Success, and leadership to define strategic product priorities, objectives, requirements, and feature requests
- Partner directly with Product to support end-to-end product development encompassing large-scale data ingestion, advanced processing, AI-powered search and analytics, sophisticated review workflows, and enterprise production capabilities required for complex litigation, regulatory investigations, and corporate compliance matters
- Monitor and report on product performance, enterprise adoption metrics, market feedback, and competitive positioning, continuously driving innovation to maintain market leadership and expand market share
You’re gonna crush it if
- You have 10+ years of experience, either as a seasoned operator with deep domain expertise or as a high-performing leader with a strong track record in business operations, even outside the industry.
- You have elite-level relationship management and leadership skills with a proven track record of success, building credibility throughout levels of an organization and cross-functionally across companies
- You have strong commercial acumen, a keen understanding of market needs and business goals, and command over a P&L and the financial metrics needed to make intelligent business decisions
- You can both get in the weeds and lead strategically across teams that harness enterprise technologies and constantly innovate to create value for customers
- You’ve worked closely with product managers, product teams, and engineers to bring customer needs to life, and you’re not afraid to embed with clients and see the technology through their eyes and experience
- You're strategically minded, data-driven, and exceptional at prioritizing features and initiatives for maximum market impact and competitive advantage
- You thrive in competitive enterprise markets and excel at solving complex technical, business, and strategic challenges at scale
- Comprehensive knowledge of litigation support workflows, including service of process and electronic filing of documents, would be a huge plus
