Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Director of Production to join our winning team. In this role, you will collaborate with leadership to develop and meet company goals, while supplying court reporting industry transcript production expertise and insights to support our growth.
Who are you?
You are an operations leader with a background in building and scaling transcript production-focused teams within the court reporting industry. You feel comfortable establishing, communicating, and implementing policies and operational standards related to transcript production and review to ensure effective and consistent support and execution. You couple your industry expertise with focus on scaling your operation - utilizing methods such as workflow automations, AI integrations, and outsourced labor models to enable cost effective growth.

On a regular basis you will
- Build and execute a strategy that enables the Production team to optimize their transcript review and production work, including identifying data-backed efficiency and quality improvement opportunities and working with cross-functional stakeholders to unlock them
- Collaborate with other teams, including Product & Engineering, to leverage automation and technology tools to optimize production processes.
- Support the growth of the Production Team by helping to develop more functional, scalable, and efficient internal and client-facing products and workflows
- Partner with the Production Managers to lead, mentor, and coach a team of production assistants, associates, and team leads
- Maintain a focus on how the Production team’s KPIs contribute to Steno’s overall Objectives & Key Results (OKR) strategy, motivating the team to deliver timely and high-quality service for our clients
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production team
- Own and analyze production analytics, and identify and drive the team toward achieving role and company-related business goals.
You’re gonna crush it if
- You have 7+ years of production leadership experience within the court reporting industry, including experience building and scaling transcript production teams
- You operate with a strong sense of ethics around things like confidentiality, discretion, and integrity
- You lead a team of individuals who often deal with sensitive information, you know how to create meaningful processes, and you lead by example in processing and handling that type of information
- You have managed managers before and successfully guided them to bring out the best in their teams
- You have a strong understanding of production workflows, quality assurance processes, and industry best practices
- You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to changing priorities
- You have relevant experience dealing with legal codes and regulations relevant to deposition transcripts and compliance around the country
- You have previous experience with structuring and scaling teams through different phases of a company’s growth, inclusive of enabling workflow automations and scaled labor models
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary - $140,000 - $180,000
