Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Planning

  • Contribute to brands’ strategy and solve critical business challenges by conducting rigorous, quantitative business analyses covering a variety of topics including sales, market trends, competition, and consumer behavior.
  • Translate complex concepts into meaningful data-driven stories that resonate with leadership, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working closely with the Commercial Strategy Director, utilize data analytics and insights from the brand teams, to identify areas of opportunity and drive overall business value in close collaboration with Sales and Marketing.
  • Collaborate with commercial strategy director and brand owners to establish commercial reporting & analytics standards to ensure consistency in data tracking and reporting across all brands.
  • Assist VP and Director, Commercial Strategy with creating fact-based recommendations and action plans to support an increase brand performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead development of bottoms-up depletions and distribution forecasting process as part of Annual Business Planning, collaborating with the Finance team of required top-line objectives.
  • Assist with the development of one- and three-year business plans for each brand, closely collaborating across Sales, Marketing, and National Accounts.
  • Develop holistic understanding of each brand’s business in the US over time: P&Ls, historical, current and future volumes, specific channel and market focuses
  • Support the team to create exciting and compelling presentations for senior leadership that are well constructed with clear insights and actionable next steps.

Business Analytics & Presentation

  • Explore & manage data from disparate sources to improve visibility and understanding, while ensuring the data accuracy, consistency, complete and makes commercial sense.
  • Call out, investigate and find solutions to all reporting data issues.
  • Identify gaps in data quality or inconsistencies between systems/sources (VIP/Nielsen/Looker/wholesaler systems).
  • Conduct research to identify trends in data quality issues to develop solutions for potential problems.
  • Monitor data quality to ensure that it remains consistent over time.
  • Serve as key resource for the brand teams on all data needs by becoming an expert in core data sources, including VIP/iDIG, KARMA, Nielsen, Looker, etc.
  • Monitor monthly brand performance and provide sales & marketing teams with detailed monthly analysis of the brand performance, outlining issues and opportunities.
  • Track execution of annual sales metrics, targets, and strategic initiatives across all brands
  • Review and assess consumer trends based upon Nielsen and NABCA data monthly. Summarize and highlight relevant findings for key stakeholders.
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis and reporting for stakeholders on a routine basis, deriving valuable insights and outlining opportunities for the brands.
  • Analysis can include: selective distribution performance, pricing, inventory/supply
  • Assist brand ownership with wholesaler joint-business plan presentations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in CPG business analytics or strategy, consulting, or investment banking; spirits industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and interpretative skills
  • Proven proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Comfortable with large data sets and learning internal database systems.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of consumer panels preferred: IRI, Nielsen
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization/project management capabilities with ability to work autonomously.
  • Solid time management skills and ability to work independently or within a large team.

Benefits & Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000 annually. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience, and skills relative to the defined job requirements. In general, actual salaries will fall somewhere in the middle of the range.

This role is based in-office 4-5 days per week.
